In-home Assistance for People With Disabilities

CareFocus Companion Services At CareFocus Companion Services, we provide one-on-one staff support for people with disabilities in their homes or in care facilities, offering the necessary assistance to maintain a safe and independent lifestyle. People with developmental and physical disabilities can experience problems with major life activities such as mobility, self-help, and independent living. With the support of a companion, individuals can participate in activities or programs that might otherwise be inaccessible to them. Companion Services:
• Providing companionship and conversation
• Providing respite care
• Providing medication reminders
• Monitoring diet and eating
• Assisting with getting in and out of bed
• Entertaining (games, crafts, reading, etc.)
• Assisting with clothing selection
• Arranging for medical, dental, or other professional appointments.

Household Services:
• Performing light housekeeping
• Running errands (prescription pick-up, dry cleaning, etc.)

• Escorting to appointments and social events
• Assisting with pet care
• Planning, preparing, and cleaning up meals

Personal Care Services:
• Assistance with a safe bathing environment

Sitter Services (available in the home, hospital, or facility):
• Reminding (medication, dates, routines, etc.)
• Maintaining patient’s comfort level
• Assisting with meals and feeding
• Providing companionship and conversation
• Seeking assistance from the hospital/facility nurse when patient is in need
• Monitoring patient activity (i.e. ensuring patient stays in bed, IVs remain in place, etc.)
• Supervising patient through the night
• Ensuring family members know that their loved one is safe when they are unable to be there
• Entertaining (games, crafts, reading, etc.)
• Patient will not be left unattended and will be accompanied by aide at all times

Our skilled companion staff will offer immediate and effective care in the comforting, familiar surroundings of home; designed to support the patient and meet their specific needs so that they feel more in control of their environment, comfortable, and secure. CareFocus will also help disabled individuals with daily living activities (as appropriate), foster self-esteem, and encourage independence and healthy living.

Regardless of the activity or need, our companions strive to ensure that the person that they are working with has an enjoyable and empowering experience. We are able to provide assistance anywhere from a few hours to 24-hours a day. At CareFocus Companion Services, our caregivers undergo interviewing, testing, and screening prior to employment, so you can feel confident that you are working with a qualified individual.
